Our positions require completion of the 40-Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program within six (6) months of starting employment. In addition, you must be able to pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check if applicable).
Counselor/Psychologist
Open Arms Advocacy Center is hiring for a counseling position! Your job would be to provide direct clinical services to sexual assault survivors, facilitate groups, and do outreach programming and professional training within the Concho Valley. You may also oversee clinical training to practicum students as needed, and consultations to staff.
We are open to people who are provisionally licensed, as well as hiring either part-time or full-time, depending on the applicant. Benefits and salary are commiserate with experience and full-time status.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/License
- Completed master’s degree in mental health counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy or doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology.
- Licensed or provisionally licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychologist (LP) in Texas. Proof of licensure will be required.

Experience
- Demonstrated commitment to, knowledge of, and experience with trauma survivors.
- Experience working with LGBTQ+ community members
Desired Qualifications

- Experience providing outreach and consultation
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- English/Spanish Bilingual
- Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by written communication, awareness of impact of self on others, and commitment to personal growth and self-reflection.
- Knowledge and understanding of the lived experience of persons with historically marginalized identities.
- Ability to analyze policies, programs, and initiatives to make recommendations for quality improvement
- A personal or professional commitment to the mission of the agency.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with electronic health records
